Additional information
Each year the laboratory organises a welcome day for the doctoral students of the AGORA laboratory in collaboration with the doctoral school. A presentation is given on the institutions (CYU, doctoral school, laboratory and research areas), the important dates for doctoral students (re-registration periods, thesis monitoring committee) and the premises available to them (seminar room, International Research Centre, Euraxess centre for international PhD students) can be visited.
A junior laboratory (AGORA doc), supported by the laboratory, was set up by doctoral students in 2020 to encourage them to come together around a common scientific project, a structured organisation able to create a dynamic approach allowing doctoral students to familiarise themselves with the world of research in all its aspects: definition of a scientific project, organisation of group work, search for funding and funding timetable, organisation of seminars and study days, communication, etc. The doctoral students were able to organise five videoconferences during lockdown, discuss thesis methodology and ask the type of questions that doctoral students may have during their research work. A mailing list ensures that all doctoral students in the laboratory can be informed of AGORA doc’s activities, particularly students who are abroad.
